basic signal chain
It's important to keep in mind, these are my suggestions, there is no right or wrong signal chain, however some set-ups are more traditional than others, which is why I recommend this layout. Each pedal colors and effects the next, but a good rule of thumb is that if it sounds good, it is good. You can also create a great sounding board with much less than what I have diagramed here. Note, the pedals shaded in grey are labeled as 'optional' but really they are all optional depending on what you're trying to achieve. I labeled these particular pedals as 'optional' because these would be some of the latter additions to my board once I had the others listed on this diagram.
